Catching up...

It has been a while! I'm building an actual website and have therefore neglected this blog. :( Lots happening on my end, here is the brief:

1) I bought a business, and now run it with my business partner. It is in the animal care industry and we currently have 3 employees.

2) I got engaged in August 2013

Film-wise I have been working here and there. Per usual, most of the things I have done are not out yet, but I do have a clip I can share, below:

I worked on a music video over the weekend for an artist who just got signed to Universal Records. More on that later.

Nightscape in Montreal

Nightscape is making it's world premier tonight at the Montreal Comicon/Horrorfest. And finally there is a new trailer for the film! Check it out! I absolutely love the soundtrack- it's been stuck in my head for days.

Traveling
I flew in to Montreal yesterday and met up with the director (David Edwards) and lead actor (Joshua St. James) here in Quebec. I know ZERO French, which makes me feel like a jerk trying to navigate this city. Last night we met up with a couple other filmmakers, including Todd Freeman (Cell Count) for drinks. Jet lagged (in favor of staying up late), we were out until early in the morning. I rounded out the night with a couple hours of Skype video calling, and finally got to sleep around 5am local time.

This morning we all met for brunch and were joined by Nightscape actor (Jorge Madrid) who flew in from Paris. Now that I've downed a couple cups of coffee, I need to get a little work done and then take a nap. Then around 4pm we're off to the convention to pick up our event passes. Looking forward to people watching and movie watching tonight. More updates from the premier to come!

Counter Culture//Digital Romance

I have a part in an upcoming project by Ian Stout called Dystopia. Currently there is an Indiegogo campaign out there to raise funds. Check out the video above to get a feel for the film.

Test shoot for Rotoscoping project

Some photos from a test shoot for an upcoming project by Jason Edwards and Patrick Neary at Stage 13 in Portland. The plan is to rotoscope the characters and add cartoon/comic book like backgrounds so the entire thing looks animated! I've never been turned into a cartoon before... I can't wait to see how the processed footage looks!

New York City - Tribeca Film Festival: More Press and Sightseeing

New York City is buzzing with Tribeca. Everywhere I went, I saw something related to the Film Festival. On April 23, 2011 the cast and crew of Rid Of Me that was in NYC did a Q&A at the Apple Store in Soho. Here's some press and photos from that:

I did manage to do some sightseeing while in NYC. Here are a few photos from Central Park, Time Square, and other places I visited on Sunday:

Later that night I went to the "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne" premier after party (yes the Osbournes were there briefly) and then a show down the street at Dropout bar that had some cool bands. Names are like secret passwords in this town.

Film Festivals

Tonight was a screening of "The Curio" a 22 minute short by Dicky Dahl wherein I play the character "Cigarette Girl." It screened as part of PIFF or the Portland International Film Festival. I got to be in the audience of this screening, which was held in the Portland Art Museum's theater. Boy my legs were shaking! It looked great on the big screen and everyone involved did a great job!

Tomorrow is a screening of a 6 minute short for the 48 Hour Film Festival. The concept behind the 48hr FF is each film crew/team gets 48 hours to write a script, shoot it, edit it, score it, and submit it. It also has to use specific props, a line of dialouge that is given, and a category that is assigned. This year the overall theme was "Go Green." In this beautiful short, (directed by Bryan Hiltner) I play a late teens/early 20's girl who's father just died. I'm not going to explain it all so if you want to see it, check out the video below! OR if you want to see it on the big screen, come to the Hollywood Theater tomorrow at 7pm. Tickets are $7, but will probably sell out.

ASUS - We are...

Just out is the ASUS add I did in October. It is going to show before movies in the theaters starting Friday December 3. If you see it in the theaters, let me know!

So, just found out that this is showing in theaters in major cities only. (LA, New York, Chicago, Toronto, etc.) BUT If you are in Portland, go to the outside Lloyd center theater on December 22nd, this add will be playing ALL DAY on the monitors around the concession stands.

Slippage (continued)

Everyone says the Fall and Winter film and print markets here in Portland are the "Slow" times. But I am busy filming, auditioning, and booking job after job. Recently, all of the above happened on in one day.

I'll share what jobs I've booked/shot after the end product comes out. It's better when I can SHOW you.

We wrapped up filming on Slippage for the year (we resume in January 2011). We ended on a very cold and rainy night in the middle of a spooky forest.

Management

Was an extra for the movie Management Starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn. Not sure if I'm in the final cut at all, but I got paid to run a bumper car into Jenifer Aniston all day.
