Warped! Concept Shoot

Promotional photo from a concept shoot for TV Pilot "Warped!" I had the pleasure of embodying this character for an afternoon. It was wild, this character is like my polar opposite. Weirds me out. But fun!
By the way, looks like this is my 100th blog post. Hmmmm....

Nightscape Premiers at ComiCon

Screenshot from Nightscape: Road Without End
I am very, very excited to announce that Nightscape will premier at the Montreal  ComiCon Horrorfest in September! Nightscape is a sci-fi horror/supernatural thriller film in which I play the leading lady, shot exactly a year ago.

I still haven't seen an updated trailer for the film, but as soon as one is released (any day now?) I'll post it here.

For those who are following this blog, be prepared for a flurry of Nightscape News as it becomes accepted to more festivals, and promotion gets underway.

EDIT 8/21/12: I will be attending the festival in Montreal to promote Nightscape this September!  See you there? Official announcement is HERE. You bet I'll be blogging from the festival, just like Tribeca 2011.

Counter Culture//Digital Romance

I have a part in an upcoming project by Ian Stout called Dystopia. Currently there is an Indiegogo campaign out there to raise funds. Check out the video above to get a feel for the film.

Jolene, Jolene

So here I am, procrastinating writing a target market analysis for a marketing plan. I will get to it, I promise. I'm just too damn excited about several other things to focus on work. By the way, I added a third undergrad degree (Advertising), did I mention that? Probably.

For one, I bought a motorcycle. A 1995 Honda Nighthawk 250. I'm learning how to ride it. I'm also hemorrhaging money in armor, helmets and parts, as well as labor hours. But damnit I will learn to work on this thing and ride! She's not yet named but I am thinking Jolene.

Second, remember the film Rid Of Me I had a role in? Well it is showing on the Showtime channel this month (July)! If you have cable or know someone who does, keep an eye out and catch a showing!

Upcoming Airings of Rid of Me:

Time: Wed, Jul 25 3:00 AM
Channel:  SHO 2

Date: Mon, Jul 30 11:35 PM
Channel:  SHOWTIME SHOWCASE

If you (like me) do not have cable, I am fairly certain that a streaming Netflix release may be available in the future. For now you can also purchase and watch it on itunesBlockbuster and Amazon.

Third, I have been working on an untitled film the last couple of months. We are in pre-production right now, getting deep into character development. This is new territory for me... going so deep with a character and having this much prep time. I am learning a lot. The film shoots in September/October. I can't say much about the film at this point, but I will give some more info when I have some more time.

Now, back to the ten million things I really should be doing.

Old School

So, once every few months I Google myself to see what happens. Yeah, true story. This time, I found a photo from a shoot for Reader's Digest from years ago, back in my punk rock days (okay so I am always in my punk rock days, but I used to be a little more obvious about it). I thought it would be fun to share it here.

By the way, so here's a little context: This was right before MySpace became a phenomenon, BEFORE taking pictures of yourself via the mirror was a cliche'd commonplace. We were trying to create a set up inspired by brilliant photographers who had experimented with mirrors and photography such as the photo seen below:

This House Is No Longer A Home

I have been busy as a bee. Finishing up this 2nd business degree, this time in Marketing, (which I like MUCH better than Management). I'm really digging the process of conducting research to learn about target markets, and designing a creative strategy and idea that will speak to the target based on the research. It connects so well to my film/commercial work too. I could actually see myself doing that as a "real" job... W&K are you hiring? :)

I just accepted a role in a feature film shooting in September... more on that later. I am very excited to work on this project as we will be approaching character development in a very unusual and in-depth way. Papers get signed on Monday.

Also, I guess the cat is out of the bag: I am now a homeowner. (WTF, I know, right?) Seriously though, the market is so cheap right now that it is not all that strange. I am now in the process of renovating an entire freaking house with the help of some family and friends. (I could not do this without you all, thank you!). This is spendy and time-consuming, and a bit frightening but tremendously satisfying. If you want to see photos (and we all love pictures!) check out my home improvement blog.

Finally, my band is playing a house show in Portland on Friday, April 27 2012. (Facebook invite).

T-shirt design contest "Portland" themed

So, one of the things I like to do is draw. Last January I entered a t-shirt design contest. The theme is "Portland". My design won 2nd place and will be printed and sold at the PSU Bookstore. Word is it was the in-store favorite :)
