In the Studio

Eleven hours of recording, and Monster-Sized Monsters has 6 new tracks! Now we mix, master, and shoot a music video.

Audio samples will be available eventually I promise. Right now the cuts are too rough for me to feel comfortable releasing yet.

Ben Fee's Feature Film

Ben Fee does amazing things with a video camera. Here is a trailer for his upcoming feature film. I lent him my ability of speech for the narration. It was my first experience with doing voice over.

Levi's Ad

levi's | o pioneers from oh julia on Vimeo.
This has sparked heated debate on YouTube apparently. People really seem to attach themselves emotionally (positively and negatively) to this commercial. People are so passionate about their views and a video such as this can bring them to blows. It is really quite amazing.

I need to clarify a few things.
1) That is not a hitler salute, that is a part Native American woman mimicking the Sacajawea statue behind her. [Actually, I was supposed to do that shot, but since I have blond hair and blue eyes they thought it would come off too Nazi-ish and therefore replaced me.]

2) Yes, there are short flashes of two guys kissing. Get over it. Levi's was founded in San Fransisco, and this is NOT a "stunt" but a reference to it's foundations as a company.

3) Walt Whitman (who's poem is being read) was probably a closeted homosexual who would not have minded his poem being used in this add.

EDIT:
After all that, YouTube deactivated the account that originally posted the add, which is too bad, because that was a high quality video. Posted here is a lesser quality version of it so you can see the whole add.

Shelter in Place

I worked with artist Stephen Slappe on an installation piece. Here are some pictures from the final result, and one from the set. It was my first time working with a green screen!

Portland Mercury's Fashion Forecast: La Merde Model

My first runway fashion show. It was a fun but odd experience. La Merde makes spectacular jackets by the way.

Management

Was an extra for the movie Management Starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn. Not sure if I'm in the final cut at all, but I got paid to run a bumper car into Jenifer Aniston all day.

Jalouse: High Fashion French Magazine

Left the Ace hotel via chauffeured limo-van that took the crew and models to Astoria, Oregon to shoot a Goonies inspired fashion spread. It was winter on the beach, windy and freezing cold, but it was a blast.

Oregon Judicial Film

Yes, I did an educational film for the Oregon Judicial System. Haven't seen it, but it gets played for everyone who is selected to serve on a jury I guess. Curley Johnson directed this as well.

EDIT:
Found the video online. HERE is a link to where you can watch it. Yeah! Let's go do some justice!!
